But hate to say that I am still not that semangat to blog yet :( I have all my travelling post not done yet although I thought of not blogging them because it was such long time ago already. After chatting with Si Mun that day about how great Bangkok is, I've decided to write about one of my favourite trip of 2008. Not now, maybe later. To start of my 1st post of the year, I want to do a recap of what happened in 2008. Ok ok, I'm outdated. Still relevant? Hmm.. it's my blog after all, I write what I like to write. Who cares if it's 2nd week of January already! #1 Working in the same place, started off with increment, got demotivated numerous time. Now holding a portfolio that I am quite happy with, life's better towards end 2008, still surviving. #2 Own 3 pairs of Crocs. Broke 2 pairs of Cyprus (gosh, I still don't know how on earth I did it!). Happy with my current Sassari.

I salute those season travellers. #21 Celebrated my 21st birthday with wedding-like (according to my friend) party :p #22 Got my platinum credit card. Haha, it's supplementary only with very low credit limit. Almost over swipe my 2 cards, bank account went negative TWICE! Gosh, how did I survive this? #23 Learn to buy expensive clothes and shoes. Better stop spending and save! Recession! #24 Lost my cousin. #25 Last but not least, went NY countdown with the gang. Can you believe that it is my first time countdown w/o my parents? Hmm.. I miss you girls.. Alright, better stop now. My battery is dying off. 12/21/2008 Temporary Out of Service11/14/2008 Quickie PostGosh.. I look at my previous post and it was dated 2nd Nov. That means 12 whole days, I mean 12 freaking days of no blogging!
Life has been pretty exciting lately, ahem I should say too exciting. I just had a great birthday party last weekend, and recovering from the post mortem. Next, I'm flying to Bangkok in 5 days time. Planning & booking tickets to Aussie, because of the MAS global sale thingy. Then, a 2-days accountant conference. Then, annual dinner. Then, training in Singapore.
*Gasp. Gasp.*
On top of all these, I have 2 projects running in office (which I'm in-charged or co-in charged). Month end accounts to prepare. Auditors to layan. Tonnes of reports (ok, I might be exaggerating lar, but I mean A LOT of reports) to finish. Phew, I am running out of breath!
Btw, I have uploaded my graduation & birthday pics. Waiting for the right time & right mood to blog about it.
Alright, guess that's all for now. Don't want to be caught blogging from office :P
Till then, Tada~~
p/s: realised that I wrote about how busy I am in 3 posts in a row, oppss~~ 11/2/2008 Biological Defences Break DownHave been coughing and flu on and off for 2 weeks. At one moment I thought I have fully recovered, the next I am coughing my lungs out. Guess my immunity system wasn't as good as my younger days already. Haha! Maybe it's time to visit the doctor. Oh, I'm the not the doctor person, Nevermind if you don't get it. Me too gave up Biology after SPM. ********************************************************************************************** There has been a Chocolate craze in office. Continuous chocolate supply (sponsored by various colleagues, due to travelling and er, price drop after melamine scare?) has been piling up our discussion table near me. Chocolate bars, chocolate chips, chocolate cookies, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolates, chocolate nougats - name it you'll get it. And the biggest victim is me! Everytime I turn around, I see chocolates, then I eat the chocolates! Melamine? Fear not. I heard the news says - an adult must eat 10 times the ordinary contaminated products he/she usually does everyday, for 1-2 years to cause fatal kidney stones. But I am worry of the headaches I am getting from chocolate over-dosed! *********************************************************************************************** You know what is the latest Telco marketing gimmick? Apparently, U Mobile is giving out FREE SIM cards to the public! They are giving out 5 SIM cards per person at some campuses.
When my sis brought back the thing, we are like so excited. U mobile friends & family get to call each other for free wor! Does that mean we get another few *FREE* SIM cards then we can call for free? Does the starter pack come with pre loaded value? Cool...
After opening up, we realised we have to register the SIM card at U counter - which we intend to! U mobile ppl are damn good weh - imagine everyone like us, register for play play, the top up for play play, then start calling our U mobile friends for free for play play, which our friends need to get U mobile line as well. Viola! more & more ppl using U mobile, steals Maxis & Digi's market shares! I seriously think those ppl working there is damn creative. Excellent marketing and advertising campaign! "Boss, nak teh tarik satu" "Bolehh!" "Nak setengah gelas" "Tak Bolehhhh!" "Kenapeeee?" Hahahahah... the teh tarik advert is freaking cool! ******************************************************************************************************** PMS time in office. Performance Management System that is. Aka Total Performance Management (TPM), can't they just call it Appraisal? I wonder this TPM thingy ever achieves it objectives or not, I think we are more concern on the bonus part. What do you expect? We did our mid year review in mid Oct then the final review 2 weeks after?! Nonsense. Hmm, but I am pretty happy with my scores this year. Just hope that my ultimate boss does not mark me down WITHOUT informing me like last year, I swear I will fire him kau-kau! Haha... Btw, I am quite happy with my new role - in charge of the treasury & investments, less clerical work. :) Hope it gets better and er... PROMOTION pls! ******************************************************************************************************* Busy with life - weddings, parties, annual dinners non stop till end of December. I know, damn happening rite? Besides, I've got some travelling to do, both business and leisure. According to MBTI test, I am a half Perceiving (P) & half J (Judgemental) person. Judging person like "to have things settles" while a perceiving person prefers to do thing according to sense/intuition. Seriously, this JP behaviour in me is giving me lots of problem. I need to have a itinerary when I travel, I need to know what to see, what to do, how to go, what to expect etc etc, but not a detailed one as I need flexibility and discovery (the P part)! So because of this, I have been reading many travel guides of many countries and a hell lot of information to digest. It's not funny! Trying my best to do an itinerary to make the best out if the little time. Travel = Shopping = Money! With all the events going on, I am trying hard to stretch my money. ************************************************************************************************************* Before I end, look what I've discover what this little things can do!
Check this out! It's AMAZING! 10/23/2008 Preparation Mode"Have you check the menu?" Too many events - Cousin's wedding, graduation, dinners, birthdays, trips etc etc etc, too many things to prepare.. Haha.. I wonder how things will be if I decide to get married! 10/7/2008 Nine West or Zara?Which is better? Please help me to choose... UPDATE: I have just bought a pair of shoes from Charles & Keith. It only cost slightly more than half of Nine West! The pattern is similar of Nine West, maybe not so high, but not so good quality la (like duh, it's half price!). Btw, I don't know why C&K Msia had been branded as an above-average-and-quite-expensive brand. I personally find Singapore C&K better... I am happy anyway... 9/27/2008 Lovely Shades9/17/2008 Things I couldn't handleThere are two things in life that I cannot handle sensible-ly.
FAMILY
JOB EXPECTATION
Sometimes I wonder why. 9/8/2008 I FELL... *again*I had an accident today. Many of my colleagues are amazed that the way I could walk with my 3 1/2 inches high heels. I walk around in the office, for meetings, to the bank, out for lunch, dinners & functions and sometimes even taking LRT. They had even advised me to be careful when walking with them. The fact is that, my heels has NEVER given me any problem before. But my Crocs DID! My blog readers who reads my blog long enough would know - I once bought a pair of Crocs for more than 200 bucks! The reason is simple - they claimed those shoes are damn comfortable, odour-fee, washable and fashionable. I thought I should treat my feet a good pair of shoes since I commute regularly. But my first pair of Crocs broke when it was 2 weeks old. So I make sure I take extra care when I got a replacement pair. To cut the story short, I was rushing from my office to catch the train at KL Sentral today. KLIA transit has this good reputation of being punctual. With 2 mins to spare, I beat the queue by purchasing my tickets from the vending machine and ran all the way to the platform. Fearing I might miss the train and have to wait for another 30 mins, I overtook a lady at the escalator and started to walk down. At that very moment, I remember reminding myself to be careful not to fall down. BUT BEFORE I COULD FINISH TELLING MYSELF THAT, I SLIPPED AND FELL! On a MOVING escalator! Mind you - I have a good history of falling in public. Was it just me unlucky or what now?! I thought short people got lower centre of gravity which make them more stable?! The same thing happened again - on the days I reminded myself to be careful when walking!!! So I quickly got up, pretend like nothing happened. Got into the train which was waiting (so everyone in the train saw what happened to me), trying to conver my embarrassment. Then I realised... MY CROCS has broken again! WTF. Thank God that I has brought back my reliable and trustworthy pump heels for tomorrow's seminar, so I managed to change into my heels and got back home safely. Loosing my Crocs no doubt painful for me, not to mention the financial loss I incurred. My injuries has made it worse. I suffered bruises on my leg, scratches from the escalator, cut on my toes, and my toe nail snapped. Then, I got this internal bleeding (oklar, a very minor minor one)- some blood clogged under the skin. So I have to use a needle to break the skin and released the clogged blood. Imagine that... So much of investing in a good pair of shoes to walk comfortably, I don't think I have the "hou meng" to wear such expensive shoes after all. I think my Crocs and I have been cursed lor. Gone - my idea of getting a black Crocs which I have been dreaming of since it 1st released in USA. Maybe I should join Harold and his 'I hate Crocs' club as revenge! 9/4/2008 3 in 1 PostOk.. just a quick update of what happened this week! 1. Lunch Alone It's Ramadhan and lunch buddies are not with me for lunch.. So what I did was - armed with my book and went to Coffee Bean for a quiet lunch. Hmm.. I don't know when I have picked up this habit and I am loving it. Just some quiet time all by myself, had a drink, read some books & magazine!
2. Making Jelly Mooncakes My house has been turned into a Jelly Mooncake Factory! Mum is making and selling jelly mooncakes and me & my sis get to help her out. The amount of mooncakes we produced daily is unbelievable k? and now we're so sick of them de! Our mooncakes are made of high quality ingredients - imported jelly powder, fresh coconut (which my mum has to buy from the market daily, no overnight!) and secret ingredient which cannot be revealed! :P Frankly speaking, our mooncakes are selling like hotcakes! It comes with different flavour for each mooncakes in the box. Trust me, is very nice o, my colleague has been ordering from me for the 3rd consecutive year! Quality and taste assured, Money back guarantee!
Delivery available around Sri Petaling and KL Sentral, free tasting available upon request, discounts for bulk order. :) Anyone who is interested pls contact me by email yuetmui_y2k [at] hotmail [dot] com or call me at 012-367XXXX. :) ' 3. What a day! And for no apparent reason, I felt so energetic today! It's been quite some time since I last felt so - was feeling lazy and tired all week long. Sleeping early and no mood to do anything. But today - totally different! Came back, made another round of mooncakes all by myself, without help! Absolutely no idea why. Maybe shopping helps, hehe, I bought a new shirt! :P And I am so excited about tomorrow! because I am going to eat in AMULETO! Muahahah.... 8/31/2008 What's Your Flavour?Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! Today is 31st of August so a very Happy Birthday to my beloved country - Malaysia :) Besides National Day, can you guess what day is today? It's 31st, I mean 31st!! Baskin Robbins is giving out 31% discount on all handpacked ice-cream!
Kebetulan we were at 1 Utama today, without much hesitation, we joined the extra-ordinary long queue to get our hands on some yummy-licious BR ice-cream.. And you know, being typical Malaysians, where people only rush for free things or discounted items, the queue is really really long. Q for 15 mins, get number n wait for another 5 mins, choose your flavour, pay, and then wait for another 5 mins to collect. Phew, luckily my family was in the mood for some BR ice-cream, otherwise, we would have just walked off after seeing the long queue.
Honestly, this is my FIRST TIME buying this 31% off BR ice-cream thingy. And after 31% discount, it is still bloody EXPENSIVE k? Pint size cost approx RM 18.00, Quart is RM 33.00++, Half Gallon is more than RM 60 while Value Cut is almost RM100! Premium ice-cream mar, what to do? After lining up that long, if we settle on Pint size then it wouldn't worth all the effort right? Half Gallon is way too much, so we had Quart size (700gm) instead. Now the problem is with what flavour to choose? Dad's fav is Rum & Raisin, Mom prefers Mint Chocolate Chip, Sis likes Sorbet, Bro insist on Cotton Candy and I wanted Chocolate! Since we only get to choose 2 flavours, to be fair, the person paying will choose... HAHA, so I get make the decision! Rum & Raisin was out of stock, so we opt for Mint Chocolate Chip and World Class Chocolate. This is the info on the 2 flavours, taken from Baskin Robbins website:
Yumm... we got our ice-creams, load them with some dry ice and off we go for dinner. See, I am a happy person now...
We had lots of food during dinner so we brought the ice-cream back home... After 3 hours leaving the store, my ice-cream has melted and now sitting in the freezer :( So I can't take a picture of the ice-cream coz it will look horrible after melted and refreeze... 8/30/2008 Can't think of any titleHere I am.. stuck at home on Merdeka eve, in front of my beloved laptop, surfing the web aimlessly and DOING MY OFFICE WORK! What a life! Wanted to blog, but nothing to blog about.. SIEN! Hmm.. oklar, show you some gifts I received recently..
8/22/2008 Not so typical Friday after allJust like another ordinary Friday, me and colleague went to Ikea Cafe for lunch. After that, went to Borders bookstore to buy some books. Hmm, haven't been reading for quite some time. In fact, I think it was ages since I bought my last book (besides my ACCA books & magazines). Moreover, I'm not a book person, I tend to be very choosy when comes to reading...
I am currently reading 'Love As A Way of Life'. This book tells us how to use Love to change your perspective for life. 'Love' to build better relationships. 'Love' to be more positive in life. Most importantly, like the title, include love in every aspect of life. Ahh.. just what I need most... and do you know what??? you know what? do you know? do you know? I Fine, I know some fellers will start asking "who is this guy?" He is one of my favourite news caster/ presenter/ commentator ! You know... Astro AEC, Evening Edition, Sun-Fri, 10.30 p.m. ?
I know, he doesn't has good looks. Jiang Han (another male news presenter of the same program) is better. I don't know, I just like his seriousness when he works. :) I spent half an hour google-ing for his image, but I find none. So I have resort to taking a picture my television during the program. Haha! Opps, back to Ikea - I was searching for a table while I saw this very familiar face who just found a table, trying to settle down with his food. Omg, it's Hai Qi! Haha.. paiseh lar... I wasn't quite sure whether it was him, so I sort of Since I was searching a table, without realising, I started circulating around his table for a few times! Haha... At one point, I was quite tempted to sit right next to him (Ikea was crowded today, it's hard to get a seat, ppl were sharing tables) Then my colleague came, and I was telling him that my fav news presenter is here, and Hai Qi actually noticed that we were looking at him lor.. Hahaha... and too bad, even though my colleague told me to take a pic with him, I didn't! which I am regretting it now! Arghh!! Help! Where & when can I see him again? I wanna take a pic with him! 8/20/2008 Deep thoughtsNow I understand... end of a chapter doesn't represent an ending, it means a fresh start of a new story..
My happiness only last for one day, more important stuffs came up after the results
So many things to do, so many things to update, so many things to think about...
What are my directions? Where is my destination?
I am thinking...
YM, no more excuses, move on and fetch your dreams...
8/8/2008 SleeplessHaven't been sleeping the entire night, and it's almost morning now I really hate this! Don't think I am overly excited for the trip... Ahh...must be that regular-low-fat-mocha-latte I had at Coffee Bean yesterday afternoon! Shit, since I'm getting old de, must cut down my coffee intake Aww... I can't sleep! I wanna sleep! I wanna sleep!! I wanna sleep!!! 7/28/2008 B-O-R-E-DI hate durians. Don't know why. *Ehem* rephrase. I don't hate durians, in fact durian taste quite good actually. I don't reject durians, just, erm, DISLIKE 'eating' durians. Not that I don't eat durians, I just don't eat durian for the sake of I don't want to eat durian. You get what I mean? Ohh.. watever... But I enjoy processed durians though - anything from dodol, durian cendol, durian cake to durian flavoured doughnut. I find eating fresh durian flesh with bare hands is something - erm - disgusting? Imagine the lembik-lembik texture when you hold it, the smell of durian stay on your palm for more than a day and worse durian flesh 'trapped' beneath your perfectly manicured fingernails.. Ewww.... Dad Today, as I was having dinner, dad decided to have some durians for dessert (they had dinner earlier than me). Hence, he took out a tupperware full of Muar durian from the fridge, open the cover - OMG the smell is awful and it looks like er, you-know-what-I-mean-which-I-shall-not-mention-here. I mean I still eat durians occasionally and would never thought it could be so unbearable. Come on, I was having dinner - drinking my soup and I almost VOMITTED! What happened to me? Alright seems like my post is long enough for today's quota. I should stop. Haha, don't take the above post too seriously, I just wanna write something to post my blog. This is what I do when I am too free and has nothing to blog about. And.... I am currently addicted to..... and anything that has to do with wasabi 7/21/2008 Happy and Motivated |
